Is Eleko Beach free to access?

Public access is free but you’ll pay $2-$5 at the gate for entrance in a car and then $25-$50 for a hut if you want somewhere to sit. Walk-in without a hut, you can sit on the sand but everyone else has a hut with food and drinks, so it's a lonely option.

How rough is the ocean at Eleko?

Rougher than most travellers expect — the Atlantic swell here is real, undertow is strong, and there are no lifeguards. Stay in waist-deep water and never swim after drinking or alone. Every year there are drownings. Take this seriously.
