Day 1: Phase 1, art and the beach
Start on Admiralty Way in Lekki Phase 1 with breakfast at Cafe Neo (about $8 with coffee) before the traffic thickens. Walk 15 minutes to Nike Art Gallery on Elegushi Road, five floors of Nigerian art, free entry, ask for Nike herself if she's around. Cabs from Phase 1 to Landmark Beach on Water Corporation Drive run about $6 on Bolt. Landmark charges around $10 entry on weekends and the loungers on the sand near Shiro Beach House are the ones to grab before noon.
Stay for sunset. The Good Beach section runs live DJs from 5pm and cocktails are $9 to $12. Dinner at RSVP on Victoria Island, a 20-minute Bolt across the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge, will run $40 to $60 a head. Book ahead on weekends or you’re waiting 40 minutes at the door.
Day 2: Conservation Centre and Ikate
Get to Lekki Conservation Centre on Lekki-Epe Expressway by 9am before the school groups. Entry is about $4, the canopy walkway (longest in Africa at 401 metres) is another $6. Two hours is plenty. Grab lunch at Terra Kulture on Tiamiyu Savage in Victoria Island, jollof and grilled tilapia around $18, and browse the bookshop.
Afternoon in Ikate: Ebeano Supermarket for snacks, then Cactus on Admiralty for cake and coffee. For sunset drinks head to Z Kitchen and Garden or the rooftop at The George in Ikoyi. Wind down at Hard Rock Cafe on Water Corporation Drive, right on the lagoon, live band from 9pm, cover around $10 on Saturdays.
Logistics that matter
Traffic on the Lekki-Epe Expressway is the whole game. Move before 8am or after 10am, then avoid the 4pm to 8pm return crush at all costs. Bolt and Uber both work; Bolt is usually $2 to $4 cheaper on the same route. Keep cash for the Lekki toll ($1) and beach entry, but restaurants and bars almost all take card. ATMs at GTBank on Admiralty Way are reliable and cap withdrawals around $60 per transaction.
