Cheap hotels in Lekki: how this site works

This is a curated guide to the whole of Lekki peninsula — not just Lekki Phase 1, but Ikate, Lekki Phase 2, Chevron, Ikota, VGC, Ajah, Sangotedo and the quieter stretch out toward Eleko Beach and La Campagne Tropicana. We index the areas travellers actually book: the nightlife spine around Admiralty Way, the boat-ride jetties at Elegushi and Tarkwa Bay, the beach clubs at Landmark and Ilashe, and the cheaper long-stay pockets past the second toll.

We are not the booking engine. Tapping See price on any listing hands you to app.impt.io, which aggregates over 8 million hotels worldwide at the same price or better than the big-name sites. Every booking made through that handoff funds one verified tonne of carbon removal, at no extra cost to you. You get the same room at the same rate — the difference is a tonne of CO₂ gone from the atmosphere for each night you spend in Lekki.

Where to stay: Lekki area by area

Lekki Phase 1 is the nightlife and eatery heart — Admiralty Way, Freedom Way and Fola Osibo have Quilox, Cubana, Hard Rock Cafe at Landmark, RSVP, Craft Gourmet and the Sailors Lounge boat jetty all within a $4 Uber. Rooms here run $70-$180 and this is where most tourists base themselves. Ikate and Lekki Phase 2, just east of the first toll, are cheaper by 20-30% and put you five minutes from Circle Mall and the Chevron beach access.

Further out, Ajah and Sangotedo suit travellers who plan cruises on the lagoon, day trips to La Campagne Tropicana at Ibeju-Lekki, or Eleko Beach weekends. Rooms here start around $30-$50 but you will spend $8-$12 each way in Ubers back to the Phase 1 clubs. Victoria Island, one bridge west via Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge, is the pick for a mixed business-and-leisure trip: rooms $90-$220, and Hard Rock, Tarkwa Bay boats and Nike Art Gallery are all a short ride.

What it costs in Lekki right now

In the low season (May-September rains), budget guesthouses in Sangotedo and Ajah sit at $25-$45, mid-range in Ikate and Lekki Phase 2 at $55-$90, and the four-star Phase 1 properties around Admiralty around $110-$160. Suya at Glover Court Suya costs about $4, a plate of jollof and grilled tilapia at Ocean Basket Landmark runs $18-$25, and a large Star beer at a Phase 1 bar is about $2.50. Beach entry at Elegushi is roughly $3 per person, Landmark Beach $6-$10.

In peak — mid-December through the first week of January — the same Phase 1 room jumps to $180-$320, and club table minimums at Quilox or Cubana start at $200 and climb to $800+ for a weekend booth. Boat cruises from Sailors Lounge or Tarkwa Bay jetty are $35-$60 per person for a three-hour trip in low season, $70-$120 in December. Jet ski hire at Elegushi runs $15-$20 for fifteen minutes year-round.

Getting around and when to go

Lekki is a single peninsula served by one main road: the Lekki-Epe Expressway. Uber and Bolt work everywhere and are the sensible default — a ride from Phase 1 to Ajah is $6-$9, to Victoria Island $3-$5, to Murtala Muhammed Airport in Ikeja about $18-$30 depending on traffic. Avoid driving between 7-10am and 5-8pm: the Lekki toll gate backs up for kilometres. Danfo yellow buses run the expressway all day at about $0.30 a hop, useful for Ajah-to-Phase-1 daytime moves.

Go between November and February for the dry, cool harmattan weather and the packed events calendar — Lagos Fashion Week, Flytime Fest, Afronation, Detty December parties along Landmark Beach. Go May-September if you want the same beaches and boat rides at half price, with brief afternoon downpours. Ramadan and the two Eid weekends shift restaurant hours in some Phase 1 spots; the Lagos International Jazz Festival in April and Felabration at the New Afrika Shrine in October are the two events worth planning a trip around.

Vos questions, nos réponses

How cheap can hotels in Lekki actually get? +

Off-peak, a clean budget room in Lekki Phase 1 or around Ikate/Sangotedo runs $30-$55 a night. The cheapest belts are Sangotedo (near Novare Mall) and the Ajah end of Lekki-Epe Expressway, where guesthouses drop to about $25 midweek. Lekki Phase 1 proper rarely dips below $60, even in the low season.

When is the best time to visit Lekki? +

The dry season from November to February is peak — expect Lekki Phase 1 rooms at $90-$160 and Detty December in late December pushing prices up 40-60%. The cheapest window is May through early September, in the rains, when the same rooms fall to $50-$85. April and October are the sweet spot: dry-ish weather, near-low-season prices.

Where should I stay for a first trip? +

Lekki Phase 1 (around Admiralty Way and Freedom Way) suits first-timers who want restaurants, bars and short Ubers to the beach — this is the nightlife core. Victoria Island, just over Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge, suits business travellers. Ajah and Sangotedo suit longer stays and boat trips to the lagoon side; quieter, cheaper, further from the clubs.

How do I get around Lekki? +

There is no metro. Uber and Bolt are the default — Lekki Phase 1 to Victoria Island runs about $3-$5, Phase 1 to Ajah $6-$9. Danfo yellow buses along the Lekki-Epe Expressway cost roughly $0.30 but are slow. A car is not needed; traffic at the Lekki toll gate between 7-10am and 5-8pm makes driving yourself painful.

What should I know about the Lekki toll gate and Detty December? +

The Lekki-Ikoyi and Admiralty Circle tolls cost about $0.20-$0.50 per crossing, cash or Lekki Concession card. More importantly: from 20 December to 2 January (Detty December), hotel rates in Phase 1 double or triple, clubs like Quilox and Cubana enforce table minimums of $200+, and traffic from VI into Lekki can take three hours. Book six weeks ahead or shift dates.

What does "every booking removes a tonne of CO₂" mean? +

When you tap See price, you are handed to app.impt.io, which aggregates over 8 million hotels at the same price you would pay anywhere else. For every booking made through that link, IMPT funds one verified tonne of carbon removal at no extra cost to you. Same room, same price, one tonne gone.
