The big clubs
Quilox on Ozumba Mbadiwe (technically VI, but a 5-minute Lekki Uber) is the flagship: multiple rooms, an Afrobeats mainstage, a hip-hop side room, table minimums from $300. Go on a Friday, book through a hotel concierge, arrive after midnight. Cubana Lagos on Adeola Odeku is smaller, hip-hop leaning, table minimums around $200. Both are worth one big night if you like loud, expensive, celebrity-heavy scenes.
Freedom Way lounges
Vellvett, Cocoon and Escape on Freedom Way are the mid-tier: cover charges $10-$20, cocktails $8-$12, DJs playing Afrobeats and amapiano. Go 11pm-2am, the crowd is younger and Lekki-based. Vellvett Fridays are the standout. This is where most travellers should end up: real Lagos energy without VI-club prices.
Bars and rooftops
Bature Brewery in VI is a proper craft brewery with a garden, $6 pours and no cover: perfect early-evening. Sky Restaurant on top of Eko Hotel does sunset cocktails at $15 with the best view in Lagos. Hard Rock Cafe on Water Corporation Drive has live Afrobeats bands most weekends and a beachfront setting. For chill drinks on Admiralty, RSVP and Cactus both do outdoor patios.
Where to skip
Any club advertising via a tout on the street. Any lounge charging women $50+ to enter (yes it happens). Rooftops on Ozumba that charge cover for empty terraces (visit for a drink then leave). Avoid unmarked shortlet parties that Instagram influencers push; you will pay $50 to enter someone's Airbnb.

What time does Lekki nightlife start?+
Bars fill around 10pm, clubs peak 1-3am, some stay open until 5am on Friday and Saturday. Do not show up at 9pm expecting a crowd.
Dress code?+
Clubs are strict: no shorts, no slides, no tank tops for men. Smart casual for lounges. Women can wear more or less anything, but heels get you past the door quicker at Quilox.
