Lekki Phase 2

Gated calm behind the Lekki-Epe Expressway noise — cheaper beds, longer cab rides, mostly a base rather than a scene. Phase 2 is what people mean when they say 'the quieter side of Lekki'. It sits south of the expressway, behind gated estates like Nicon Town and Pinnock Beach, and the vibe is residential — think expat families, quiet compounds, and Sunday afternoons of nothing happening. There are a handful of guesthouses and small hotels, but nightlife means driving 15 minutes back to Phase 1 or Ikate.This suits budget travellers and long-stay visitors who want to sleep well and don’t mind the taxi tab. It does not suit someone here for three nights hoping to walk to clubs — you’ll waste half the trip in traffic. Rooms run $50-$90 for basic clean spots. The upside: quieter nights, less honking, and you can actually hear the ocean from Pinnock Beach Estate if you’re staying there.

Is Lekki Phase 2 worth staying in over Phase 1?

Only if you want quiet and are willing to spend on rides. You save maybe $15-$25 a night on the room but spend $8-$15 daily on cabs to where the action is. For 2+ nights of nightlife-focused travel, Phase 1 wins.

Can you walk between Phase 1 and Phase 2?

Not really. The Lekki-Epe Expressway is a 6-lane highway with limited pedestrian crossings, and estates on either side aren’t connected by walking paths. Always take a bike or car — it's a 3-4 minute ride but a miserable 30-minute walk.
