The best value month of the year
November is what February would be if February weren’t already so good — dry, warm, blue-skied, and calm. The rains have ended, harmattan hasn’t started, and temperatures sit at a very pleasant 30-32°C daytime and 24°C at night. Humidity is dropping through the month from 75% to about 60%. Beach days at Ilashe, Eleko and Tarkwa Bay are reliable. Boat trips run every weekend. The Lekki Conservation Centre trails are still green from the rains but the boardwalks are dry.
Room rates through mid-November are essentially low season. Radisson Blu Anchorage at ₦160,000, The Wheatbaker at ₦200,000, The George in Ikate at ₦105,000, serviced apartments in Chevron at ₦80,000-90,000. Restaurants aren’t yet in the December rush — you can walk into RSVP, Talindo, or Nok by Alara on a Saturday night.
The last two weeks change
From about November 20th, prices start climbing as the diaspora starts arriving early and event promoters begin advertising December parties. Hotel rates jump 20-30% by the last week. Restaurants introduce reservation-only policies for weekends. Landmark Beach installs the temporary bars and stages for December. The city visibly shifts gears. If you want the November experience, book for the first three weeks. If you want a slice of the December energy without full December prices, come November 25-30.
