The infrastructure reality
Sidewalks in Lekki are inconsistent — some stretches of Admiralty Way and Freedom Way have raised, uneven paving; many streets have open drainage channels instead of kerbs. Kerb cuts are rare. Rolling any distance outdoors is difficult and often unsafe near traffic. Assume you’ll be moving between buildings by car rather than on foot, even for short distances that would be walkable in Europe or North America.
Malls are your friends. Circle Mall, Novare Lekki, The Palms and Ikeja City Mall all have ramps, lifts and accessible toilets. Newer hotels in Ikate and Lekki Phase 1 (built post-2015) generally have lift access and at least one accessible room — but confirm bathroom specifics (roll-in shower vs bathtub, grab bars) directly with the hotel because listing photos lie.
Transport, restaurants and what to book ahead
There are no accessible taxis or WAV rideshare options in Lagos. The workaround is hiring a private driver with an SUV (Toyota Highlander, Prado) through your hotel — the higher seat position makes transfers easier than a saloon car, and drivers will help. Budget ₦40,000-₦70,000 per day. Danfos, kekes and okadas are not viable for wheelchair users.
Restaurants worth trying: Nok by Alara (step-free entrance, spacious layout), RSVP Lekki (ground floor, wide doors), Cactus Ikoyi (ramp, accessible restroom), and hotel restaurants at Radisson Blu, The George and Eko Hotel. Call ahead — many venues have one step at the entrance that staff can bridge with a portable ramp if warned. Lekki Conservation Centre's boardwalk is partly accessible but the canopy walkway is not.

Are Lekki beaches accessible?+
Not really. Elegushi, La Campagne and Landmark Beach all involve sand walks with no boardwalks to the waterline. Landmark Beach has the firmest access via the resort side and staff who will help.
Can I rent a wheelchair or mobility scooter?+
Bring your own. There is no rental market for tourists in Lagos, and hospital-supply chairs are basic and hard to source short-term. A folding travel chair with puncture-resistant tyres is the right kit.
