Why the shuttle matters
Murtala Muhammed Airport to Lekki is 35km and 90 minutes to three hours depending on when your flight lands. Bolt from arrivals can be a scrum — drivers cancel, quote extra, or refuse the trip. A hotel shuttle booked in advance is worth every $ of the $30 to $50 charge because someone is standing there with your name, and you skip the taxi mafia at the exit. Even 'free' shuttles usually have a $10 to $20 gratuity expectation.
Reliable shuttle operators
Radisson Blu Anchorage, The Wheatbaker, Fraser Suites Ikoyi and Eko Hotel all run confirmed pre-booked airport pickups with tracked vehicles. In Lekki proper, Lakowe Lakes, Landmark Village and Signature Suites do the same. Confirm 24 hours before landing with a WhatsApp message including your flight number. Ask specifically for the driver's phone number — the arrivals hall in Lagos has no reliable wifi.
When to take Bolt instead
If you land between 6am and 10am on a weekday, Bolt or inDrive from the international terminal to Lekki runs $22 to $35 and can be faster than a shuttle stuck in the same jam. Between 3pm and 8pm any day, book the shuttle — the traffic makes ride-hailing quotes double, and drivers cancel repeatedly. Late-night arrivals after 11pm: shuttle always. The airport road is not somewhere to be figuring things out at 1am.
