Who it suits
Eleko is the cluster around Eleko Beach, roughly 45 minutes east of Ajah down the expressway. The beach itself is calmer and cleaner than Elegushi, with rows of private beach huts you can rent for the day (₦15,000-₦40,000) and a handful of small resorts and guesthouses along the access road — Amen Estate is here, plus Coral Pearl, Ibiza Beach Resort and various guesthouse-scale places.
It suits couples and small groups who want a beach weekend without paying La Campagne prices. It suits Lagosians on a weekend break more than international travellers — the vibe is very much the Lagos-getaway one, particularly on Saturdays when the beach fills up.
Who it does not suit
Anyone whose Lagos itinerary involves multiple trips back to the city. Eleko to Victoria Island is 90 minutes off-peak, considerably more with traffic. Business travellers, solo travellers who want street life, anyone who does not care about beaches — none of it makes sense here.
Also not for people who want swimming pools as the main event — Eleko's draw is the ocean, and most properties here have small pools rather than resort-scale ones. If you want a big pool complex, La Campagne or Amen Estate deliver better.
What is within walking distance
The beach itself, from any Eleko property. A row of small bars and food vendors along the beach access road, mostly serving grilled fish, catfish pepper soup and drinks. A few provision stores. Nothing more — this is not a shopping destination, and there are no restaurants in the sit-down sense outside the resort compounds themselves. Bring what you need or eat in-house.

Is Eleko Beach safe to swim?+
The currents are gentler than at Elegushi but the Atlantic here still has undertow. Do not swim past waist height and never at dusk.
Weekday vs weekend prices?+
Weekend rates are 30-50% higher and the beach is much busier. Sunday to Wednesday is the sweet spot for value and quiet.
