Destination restaurants inside hotels
Sky Restaurant at Eko Hotel and Foreshore at Radisson Blu are the two hotel restaurants where locals will actually make a reservation without a hotel-guest reason. Sky does a Japanese menu that's held up for years — the sushi chef trained in Dubai and stays consistent. Foreshore leans continental with reliable steaks. The Wheatbaker's restaurant is the best-executed fine dining in Ikoyi, small menu, changes monthly, and the wine list is the most serious in Lagos.
Café Vergnano at the George does a proper Italian breakfast that draws a weekday Ikoyi crowd. Skip the pastas at dinner — kitchen is stronger at breakfast and lunch. Book Sky and Wheatbaker at least three days ahead for Friday or Saturday.
Solid hotel restaurants for guests
Lopez Hotel's restaurant does a competent local-and-continental menu with good jollof and grilled fish. Bature Brewery's kitchen turns out proper pizzas and burgers alongside the beer, and it's the best casual hotel restaurant in Lekki Phase 1. Blowfish's Japanese menu is decent but overshadowed by nearby standalone options like Izanagi.
Anywhere with a 200-item menu that includes Chinese, Indian, Lebanese, continental and Nigerian is trying to please everyone and getting nothing right. Look for a menu under 40 dishes. If you’re picking a hotel largely for the food, verify the head chef hasn’t changed in the last month — Lagos hotel kitchens turn over fast and reviews lag by 60 days.
