November to February: peak season
Dry, breezy, no lagoon flooding, and Lagos is at its social peak. December especially is Detty December: diaspora crowds, weddings, concerts, boat parties and every restaurant on Admiralty Way at full capacity. Hotel prices spike 30-50 percent in mid-December to early January; book by October. Temperatures hover 25-32C, nights cool enough to sit outside without sweat.
March to May: shoulder
Hotter (up to 34C) and humid, but still mostly dry until late May. Prices drop back to normal, restaurants are less packed, and beach houses on Ilashe are easier to book last-minute. Good time for a quieter, cheaper trip if you can handle the heat.
June to October: wet season
Skip if you can. June and July are the heaviest rains, with Lekki-Epe Expressway flooding, boat trips cancelled and beach days ruined. August has a short dry break (the August Break) worth catching. September and October are unpredictable. Hotels are cheap and traffic is lighter, but any outdoor plan is a gamble.

If nightlife and events are your reason for coming, absolutely. If you want beach and quiet, come in November or February.
Are there mosquitoes?+
Yes year-round, worse in wet season. Take antimalarials and bring DEET. Hotels usually have nets or A/C sealed rooms.
