Who it suits
Oniru sits along Ligali Ayorinde and the axis running toward Lekki Phase 1, and it has quietly become the most desirable hotel address in Lagos in the last five years. The Landmark complex — Landmark Beach, Landmark Hotel, Landmark Centre event venue — is the anchor, with a strip of 4- and 5-star hotels along the same road (Radisson Blu Anchorage, The George, various boutique properties).
It suits leisure travellers with a beach priority — Landmark Beach is the cleanest, best-run beach in Lagos, with proper security, activities and food service. It suits couples on short romantic breaks and anyone attending events at Landmark or Eko Convention Centre, which is 10 minutes away.
Who it does not suit
Anyone on a budget — Oniru is a premium zone and finding a room below ₦100,000 requires effort. Business travellers with meetings deep in Ikeja or the mainland — the location is central for VI and Lekki but adds distance to anywhere else.
Also not the pick for anyone who wants to walk to a lot of restaurants — Oniru has good hotel restaurants but the street-level dining is thinner than Phase 1's, and you will Bolt for variety.
What is within walking distance
Landmark Beach and its restaurant strip (Shiro Lagos, Hard Rock Cafe, Beer Barn, multiple beach clubs), the Landmark Centre for events, and the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge access. Bay Lounge is a short walk. Silverbird cinema (VI branch) is 10 minutes on foot. Oniru Market — a smaller, cleaner version of Jakande — is 15 minutes and worth the walk for fabric.

Technically Victoria Island Extension. Culturally and drive-time-wise it functions as a bridge between VI and Lekki Phase 1.
How does it compare on price to Phase 1?+
Slightly more expensive at the top end (Landmark and Radisson), similar in the middle. The difference is you are paying for beach access and event proximity.
