Who it suits
Phase 2 is a value play. It is really the umbrella name for the estates between the Second Toll Gate and Vgc — Lake View Park, Fara Park, parts of Ikota — and the accommodation is almost entirely short-let apartments on Airbnb and PropertyPro rather than hotels. A one-bed with pool access and a generator that runs 24/7 sits around ₦45,000-₦70,000 a night, which is roughly 40% cheaper than Phase 1 for similar build quality.
It suits families staying a week or more, remote workers who need a desk and reliable power, and anyone attending events at Eko Hotel or on the Island who does not mind a 25-minute drive in exchange for a bigger, quieter flat.
Who it does not suit
Anyone who wants to walk to dinner. Phase 2 has almost no street life — the estates are gated, the roads between them are dark and unpaved in stretches, and every meal will involve a car. Solo travellers here without a driver will spend ₦8,000-₦15,000 a day on Bolt just to eat.
It is also not the place for a short stay. The saving over Phase 1 only makes sense past three or four nights, once the extra transport cost stops eating the discount.
What is within walking distance
Depends entirely which estate you pick. Lake View Park and Fara Park have their own small commercial strips with a Spar-style mini supermarket, a shawarma spot and one or two lounges inside the gate. Vgc has a proper commercial cluster with pharmacies and casual restaurants. Outside these pockets, walking is not really the mode — the arterial roads have no pavements and the median distance to any restaurant is 1.5km.

Is there a real hotel in Phase 2, or only Airbnbs?+
A handful of small hotels exist — The Providence, Bemuchi, LandWey Signature — but the inventory is dominated by short-let apartments, and the apartments are generally newer and better value.
How long does it take to reach Victoria Island from Phase 2?+
25-40 minutes off-peak, 60-90 minutes in evening traffic. The morning inbound (7-9am) is worst — allow 90 minutes to be safe.
