Who it suits
Chevron is named for the oil company whose office anchors the area — the drive itself runs off the expressway down to the lagoon, and the properties along it skew corporate. Business travellers with meetings at Chevron, Total or the smaller service companies stay here as a matter of course. A room at somewhere like Bogobiri Chevron or the Signature Hotels sits around ₦60,000-₦90,000, which is meaningfully below Phase 1 for equivalent quality.
It also suits families. The estates off Chevron Drive — Northern Foreshore, Chevy View — have short-let houses with private gardens, and the roads inside are wide enough to let kids cycle, which is unusual for Lagos.
Who it does not suit
Anyone here to party. Chevron closes early — most restaurants stop serving at 10pm and there are two lounges, both quiet. If your trip is about nightlife, this is not the place. It is also poor for walking: the drive has a decent pavement but nothing to walk to along it, and the side estates are gated with a checkpoint per estate.
The expressway junction at Chevron gets choked between 7-9am and 5-8pm. Factor an extra 20 minutes onto every peak-hour trip out of the area.
What is within walking distance
Very little, in truth. Chevron Drive itself has one supermarket cluster near the top (Prince Ebeano), a couple of shawarma joints and the Cafe Neo at the Chevron gate. The nearest proper restaurant strip is the Circle Mall area, 15 minutes on foot from the top of the drive or five minutes by car. The lagoon at the end of the drive has no public access — it is all private compounds.

How far is Chevron from the airport?+
40 minutes off-peak from Murtala Muhammed, 90 minutes to 2 hours in evening traffic. Confirm shuttle timing carefully.
Are the estates safer than the main drive?+
Both are among the safest in Lekki. Estates add a gate check but the main drive has 24-hour LASTMA and police presence.
