Pet policy in Lagos hotels is inconsistent even where the website says yes. The reliably pet-friendly are Fraser Suites in Ikoyi (from $260, small dogs only, pet fee $30 per night), The Wheatbaker (case-by-case, $40 fee), and Bolton White Apartments in Ikate ($150, dogs under 15kg). Everything else is a phone call, not a booking-site checkbox. Call the front desk, get the name of who approved it, and screenshot the email.
Serviced apartments are your best bet
Short-let apartments in Ikate, Osapa London and Lekki Phase 1 on Airbnb-style platforms are much more accommodating than hotels. Expect $80 to $180 a night, with owners often asking for a refundable pet deposit of $50 to $100. Some of the best-known short-let clusters in Ikate now have dedicated pet-welcoming units. Advantage: you can walk your dog on quieter estate streets rather than through hotel lobbies.
What to plan for
Lekki weather is hot and humid year-round; walks are best before 8am and after 6pm. Vets to know: VetPlus in Lekki Phase 1 and Amber Veterinary in Ikoyi both handle emergencies. Pet food supply is decent — Kingfisher in Circle Mall stocks major brands. Bring flea and tick prevention; the tropical parasite load is heavier than most visiting owners expect.

Can I bring my dog to Lekki beaches?+
Elegushi and Ilashe allow dogs off-peak. Landmark Beach officially doesn’t but you’ll see them on weekday mornings. Keep on-lead, bring water — the sand hits 40C by 11am and burns paws fast.
Are there pet-friendly restaurants?+
A handful of open-air spots like Bature Brewery, La Taverna and Café Vergnano tolerate small well-behaved dogs on the outside terrace. Nowhere in Lekki has a formal pet-friendly policy — ask when you arrive.
