Beyond the canopy walk
The ground-level boardwalk through the mangroves is honestly the better wildlife experience — monkeys, monitor lizards, bushbuck and dozens of bird species, especially early. There's a picnic area, a small tower, a kids' family park with games, and a modest gift shop. Budget 90 minutes to 3 hours depending on stops. Guides are available for $5 to $10 tip and worth it if you actually want the birds and reptiles pointed out.
Is it worth it?
Yes if you’re in Lekki more than two days. The combination of a rare urban forest, a genuinely thrilling walkway, and $10 entry is unbeatable value. Pair it with lunch at Nok or Terra Kulture and a beach in the afternoon for the perfect Lekki day. Skip if you have limited time and prefer beach or boat — Lekki Conservation Centre is a good-not-great half day, not a headline attraction. Go for the mangrove, not the height.

Is the canopy walk scary?+
Moderately — it sways with wind and footfall, and the higher sections wobble noticeably. Kids from 6 upward handle it fine; anyone with real vertigo will hate the last two sections. There's no separate exit if you turn back — you cross the full length or reverse against traffic.

Bolt from Lekki Phase 1 is $3 to $5, from VI $6 to $10. The entrance is set back from the expressway — tell the driver LCC, everyone knows it. Combine with lunch nearby to make a half-day.
