Full-service spas that a spa person would respect
Lakowe Lakes Golf & Country Estate has the only destination spa on the peninsula: seven treatment rooms, a proper steam suite, and therapists trained by a South African contractor who visits quarterly. It's a 40-minute drive from Lekki Phase 1 and worth it if you’re staying more than one night. Radisson Blu's spa in VI is the strongest in-city option, with a hammam room that actually gets used and a deep-tissue therapist named Grace who has a small cult following.
The Wheatbaker in Ikoyi runs a smaller spa with a tighter menu but excellent facials using Biologique Recherche products, which is unusual for Lagos. Eko Hotel's spa is bigger but more hit-and-miss on therapist consistency. Book the same therapist twice if you find one you like — Lagos spa staff move between hotels every few months.
Boutique spa rooms and hotel add-ons
Maison Fahrenheit in VI has one treatment room and a two-therapist rotation, but the massage quality is more consistent than half the bigger hotels. The George offers in-room massage via an external partner that's reliable if you book 24 hours ahead. Lopez Hotel in Lekki Phase 1 has a small spa attached mostly for guests; it's competent for a Swedish massage but skip the facials.
Skip any hotel selling a 'spa package' that turns out to be a discount at a nearby salon. Ask specifically whether the spa is inside the hotel and staffed by hotel employees. Prices run ₦25,000 for a 60-minute massage at mid-tier hotels up to ₦65,000 at Lakowe and the Wheatbaker.
